Al Fitzburgh's Rhododendron Hybrids

Al Fitzburgh lives and gardens in Caldwell NJ, USDA Zone 6A. He is a retired dentist and has been growing and hybridizing rhododendrons since 1971. The main thrust of his hybridizing has been toward creating hardy dwarf hybrids with exceptional foliage and pure colors.


Silver Angel Yaku Angel x pachysanthum Hardy to -10, typical Yakusianum with pink to white flower 3' x 3' in 20 yrs - blooms mid May Hybridized for its foliage with silver tomentum, light tan indumentum, and very dense growth
